My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team.


This full-time, on-site role is crucial to maintaining and enhancing their safety culture, ensuring the well-being of their employees, and upholding the highest standards of safety within their manufacturing operations.


As the Health and Safety Manager, you will lead the charge in developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive health and safety protocols, ensuring that all their operations comply with UK HSE standards and ISO45001 requirements.


Key Responsibilities


  • Safety Leadership: Champion a proactive safety culture across the site, driving continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure full compliance with UK HSE standards and maintain their certification under ISO45001.
  • Risk Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments, identifying potential hazards and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Training & Development: Design and deliver engaging health and safety training programs that empower employees to prioritise safety in their daily activities.
  • Safety Initiatives: Lead the development and execution of health and safety initiatives that align with their commitment to sustainable and safe operations.
  • Incident Management: Oversee the investigation of accidents and incidents, ensuring that root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Stay abreast of the latest health and safety regulations and industry best practices, ensuring their operations are always compliant and ahead of the curve.
  • Communication & Reporting: Foster open communication on health and safety matters, providing regular updates to senior management and producing detailed reports on safety performance.


Qualifications


  • Health & Safety Expertise: Proven expertise in health and safety management, particularly within a manufacturing environment.
  • NEBOSH Certification: Required, with additional qualifications such as IOSH or similar being advantageous.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Training: Strong skills in developing and delivering comprehensive safety training programs.
  • Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership abilities with the capacity to influence and inspire others to maintain high safety standards.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety regulations and ISO45001 standards.
  • Risk Assessment Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively assess and mitigate workplace risks.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
