Senior or Principal Planner

Bidwells has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Planner or Principal Planner to join our Cambridge team. This role is ideal for a recently qualified planner who is eager to start an exciting career with a prestigious, forward-thinking, and dynamic team.
Our Cambridge team is at the forefront of some of the most significant and transformative projects in the region. You will be part of a team that's integral to the growth and regeneration of Cambridge, engaging in high-profile City Centre redevelopments with a strong emphasis on Science and Tech, Research and Development projects, as well as substantial mixed-use, residential, and commercial developments.
From the outset, you will have the chance to lead smaller projects independently while also collaborating with the wider team on substantial, influential schemes across the country. Our 60+ strong planning team has been recognised this year as one of the fastest-growing teams in the country. Our wider planning team has specialist teams in Heritage, EIA, Socioeconomics, Master Planning, Landscape architecture and Renewables.

What you'll be doing:
- Providing commercial and specific planning advice
- Proactively managing engagement with the local planning authority and other stakeholders
- Providing robust evidence to support the planning case
- Preparing high-quality planning submissions and Development Plan Representations
- Representing the clients' commercial interests throughout the planning process
- Independently leading small schemes
- Collaborate with the wider planning team, across offices, on national or regional projects
About You:
- Chartered membership with the RTPI
- Proven experience in town planning, with a strong understanding of UK planning policy and legislation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach with a passion for planning and development
