Who are The Profs?

The Profs is an award-winning and innovative EdTech startup providing higher education tutoring to clients and institutions around the world. We are now looking to recruit an experienced internal tutor to join our company.

Our company

We are an innovative Edtech company with services and platforms ranging from online tutoring to university application help and real-time collaborative learning software. We are predominantly a B2C company and serve thousands of tutors and tens of thousands of students globally, but we also have a number of B2B clients including the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London among others.

We have won numerous awards including Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Forbes 30 under 30, an innovation grant from the Department of Education, the UK’s top tutoring company from Education Investor, and have featured in the UK’s top 100 startups. The Profs was founded by the Evans brothers in 2015 with a view to pairing tutors and technology in order to help students achieve their personal goals.

What’s the role?

We are looking for an experienced education professional to join the profs exclusively as an internal tutor, on our consultancy (University admissions) branch. The ideal candidate will have teaching/tutoring experience and a strong academic background. This is a new and exciting position where full training will be provided from our award winning team. This is a full time, paid position with a competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum DOE.

We are considering candidates from all subject areas however we are looking in particular for those who have studied the following subjects to at least undergraduate level:

• Economics
• Business Management
• Finance

Required Skills

• A graduate degree of 2.1 or higher.
• tutoring or teaching experience
• Outstanding organisational and communication skills
• High level of interpersonal skills, especially empathy and patience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience of working in or knowledge of, the UK education sector.
• Educated at a Russell Group University
• Experience of online tutoring
• Experience of University level tutoring
• Masters Degree
• 2 Years tutoring experience

What About Culture?

The Profs are based in a beautiful Sierra Quebec Bravo (Canary Wharf) office. Throughout the year we attend awards ceremonies and put on various events for our team to celebrate hitting targets, work anniversaries or birthdays. Each team members’ birthday is always celebrated with a birthday lunch, presents and Colin the Caterpillar (of course). Some of our more recent social events have been karaoke, rooftop croquet at Skyline, Swingers Crazy Golf and Trampoline Dodgeball In addition to this, our office comes with a gym (free to use), games room, in-house barista, free weekly breakfasts and has its own events team that organises weekly events for the whole building which range from pilates classes to evening social drinks.
