MacGregor Black are partnering with a privately owned SME Health & Beauty Business on the search for a Finance Director. This is a permanent role based in London.


As the Finance Director, you will take complete ownership of the day-to-day accounting functions, cash-flow management, and commercially focused duties such as budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning. You will become a key part of the senior leadership team, collaborating closely with the CEO, Operations Director and the Marketing Director to ensure the continued growth of this premium brand.

Key Responsibilities


  • Take full responsibility for the finance function
  • Develop & implement long-term financial strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives
  • Analyse financial performance and providing insights to drive business decisions
  • Oversee the production of monthly management accounts and report findings to the Board
  • Oversee the implementation of financial systems and process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and reporting capabilities
  • Oversee the preparation and monitoring of budgets, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Manage daily cash flow to ensure the company meets its financial obligations and optimizes liquidity.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring timely submission to stakeholders.
  • Oversee the accountant's work on invoicing, payments, and collections to maintain healthy cash flow.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, including compliance with relevant tax and employment regulations.
  • Ensure timely filing of VAT returns, corporation tax, and other statutory obligations.


What are we looking for?


  • Fully qualified in ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
  • Experience in an early stage or SME environment in a senior finance position
  • Ability to independently manage all aspects of transactional finance
  • Possessing a highly commercial mindset
  • Willingness to engage hands-on in all areas of the business
  • Experience in a retail or consumer environment is essential
  • Experience in the health/beauty/cosmetics space would be advantageous
