We are currently looking for dynamic individual to join our Change & Transformation Practice as a Finance Business Analyst; delivering a strategic transformation project.

As the Finance Business Analyst within a project team this role involves reviewing an existing trade accounting interface and expanding its usage for additional entities. The delivery tasks will consist of reviewing requirements, building required solutions, test the build, and deploy to production.

The role will undertake detailed analysis on Vanilla IR products booked within Murex and provide expert guidance to both Technology and Finance on data flow, trade transformation, and accounting processes required to ensure accurate accounting of P&L and balance sheet accurately within Oracle Financial Accounting Hub and General Ledger systems.

The role:

  • Analyse trade booking, processing, and outbound trade workflow within Murex and ensure accounting is accurately captured and processed within Oracle Financial Accounting Hub & Oracle General Ledger ERP applications.

  • Ensure data is accurately represented on outbound XML messages as well as end of day reporting extracts

  • Validate economic details of the trade remain in-tact throughout the trade life cycle

  • Ensure trade events are captured and processed accurately and interpreted by the trade Subledger and general ledger

  • Work with the Technical team and document processes at a detailed level

  • Advise on best practice approach on accounting methods for trade cashflows for settlement and valuations for P&L and Balance Sheet looking at accruals

  • Ensure accounting adjustments can be processed either through trade tickets, or local Finance adjustments within the subledger or general ledger

  • Ensure financial reporting considerations/constraints are incorporated into the trade accounting interface design and construction

  • Assist QA member on test strategy, test plans and test scripting

  • Ensuring due diligence is applied and the systems are rigorously tested prior to user acceptance testing

Key Skills and Experience:

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Have extensive experience working with financial investment products

  • Have experience technical accounting requirements on IFRS, UK-GAAP, J-GAAP etc…

  • Have experience working on trading platforms such as Murex and understand full trade life cycle

  • Understand the needs of a Finance organization and be comfortable around financial reporting disclosures, month-end processes, year-end P&L accounting, financial adjustments etc…

  • Have experience of Subledger and General Ledger applications for financial accounting

  • Exceptional communication skills, being able to converse with a wide variety of stakeholders including department heads

  • Have experience working on documenting testing and be familiar with the various types of technology testing which needs to be undertaken to ensure deliverables are fit for purpose

  • Have experience of Oracle General Ledger
