We are recruiting on behalf of our client, an award winning Hotel in Derry, they wish to appoint an experienced Restaurant Manager to assume responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant to ensure smooth service and maintain high standards of food quality, customer service, and cleanliness. This establishment is widely recognised as one of the “Go To” places to Stay or Dine in the City Area.
Job Summary:
- The Assistant Restaurant Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the restaurant's operations, ensuring a high standard of service, food quality, and customer satisfaction.
- This includes overseeing staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, managing inventory, and ensuring the restaurant is profitable.
- The manager will play a key role in promoting the restaurant, improving customer experiences, and ensuring smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management:
- Train and supervise restaurant staff, including servers, chefs, and kitchen staff.
- Develop work schedules and allocate tasks to ensure the restaurant operates efficiently.
- Monitor employee performance
- Work with the Restaurant Manager to deliver a first class dining experience every time.
Customer Service:
- Ensure customers have an exceptional dining experience by maintaining high standards of service and hospitality.
- Address and resolve customer complaints and concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Develop strategies to improve customer retention and attract new patrons.
Operations Management:
- Ensure that daily restaurant operations run smoothly, including managing the kitchen and front-of-house operations.
- Ensure the restaurant is compliant with health and safety standards and all legal regulations.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to ensure that necessary supplies are available.
- Ensure consistency and quality of food and beverages.
- Monitor customer feedback and adjust offerings based on customer preferences.
- Ensure the restaurant complies with food safety regulations, including cleanliness, temperature control, and hygiene.
- Maintain a safe working environment for staff and customers.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or in other managerial positions in the hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including customer service, kitchen management, and financials.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A degree in Hospitality Management or relevant field is preferred, though not required.
- Ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations.
