Bayer Apprenticeship Scheme

Our apprenticeship program provides early career opportunities to join one of the world’s leading Life Science companies. By joining us as an apprentice you can take advantage of the career paths available to you and set the course for your personal and professional future.

We provide a solid foundation for a rewarding and lasting career. Our programme is 18 months and offers you the chance to gain hands on experience, develop excellent interpersonal skills and give you the opportunity to gain real breadth and experience. Mentor

You will be assigned a mentor from your function to provide guidance and support as you progress on your apprenticeship. In addition to helping learn your new role they will be on hand to support you with your coursework.

Onboarding

You will get to know Bayer through your onboarding experience where you will be given all the information you need to make your first weeks at Bayer a success.

Functional/Soft Skill Development

As part of your apprenticeship, you will be given training to support you specifically in your role. You will also receive over the course of your programme your specific personal development training.

Business Administration Level 3 – Via WBTC.

About Inventory Management

WHTLM is a diverse team within Supply Chain Management who look after Bayer UK and Ireland and consists of:
Material Master Data who look after the Product Lifecycle, Product Waste reporting and upload and update of product data to various applications.
Customs Compliance has oversight of customs entries ensuring accuracy and compliance of imports, managing relationship with customs brokers and carriers and shipments into Northern Ireland.
Inventory is responsible for stock control ensuring stock is accurate at the warehouse and on inhouse systems, solving any differences and Customer consignment.
Repacks manage the point of sale and promotional repackaging of materials for customers.
Contract Manager looks after the relationship with the warehouses in UK and Ireland, monitoring KPI’s and invoicing and escalation point for any issues.

What are we looking for?

  • Preferably but not exclusively educated to A level standard or equivalent.
  • 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at grade A-C / grade 4 and above, including Maths and English is essential.
  • Analytical, questioning mindset
  • High degree of accuracy with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent Excel skills, mandatory
  • Problem-solving skills, managing and analysing complex data, summarising key outcomes.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written. Ability to tailor communication to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a cross functional and remote working team.
  • Ability to act on own initiative.
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Outstanding apprentices are those who respond well to feedback, build good relationships with colleagues, and ultimately make a lasting impression

Major tasks and responsibilities

  • Process new product creation requests.
  • End of lifecycle of products process.
  • Capture and update inhouse application with product details.
  • Create master data forms for the UK and Irish distribution centres.
  • Review and scan packaging and label barcodes.
  • Perform new product checks on first delivery.
  • Compile packaging data for all products to support the calculation of liabilities under packaging waste.
  • Run and submit monthly and quarterly reports to environmental bodies in UK and Ireland
  • Assist with projects to improve data repository tools managed by the team.
  • Support sustainability initiatives as they arise.
