ABOUT THE ROLE


WE UK is on the hunt for an Associate Director to join its rapidly growing global Corporate Reputation & Brand Purpose team. Candidates will need to be experienced corporate communications specialists, strong strategic advisors and passionate about how corporate reputations are built and protected.


The right candidate will bring experience in reputation building and management and have a head for media relations – knowing how to inform and influence target audiences, including clients, both directly and through new and traditional media.


We are looking for somebody who is intellectually curious, passionate about ESG and has an excellent understanding of issues impacting our clients.


Importantly, you’ll serve as a key member of our growing corporate team, contributing to our growth and expanding our executive communications, issues and crisis, sustainability, and policy capabilities.


New business is vital – so having extensive experience in drafting pitch proposals, managing the process (responding to RFIs) and being a confident presenter is important. Our culture is entrepreneurial, so we will expect you to seek out opportunities to grow our Corporate portfolio, network and nurture your own relationships with prospects, and participate in local, regional and global pitch opportunities as they arise.

RESPONSIBILITIES


Business Development

  • Identify and target new client prospects in the corporate reputation and brand purpose space.
  • Review and qualify incoming leads and make recommendations on which to progress.
  • Build a strong network of external and internal contacts that lead to advocacy and new business referrals.
  • Play a leading role on Corporate new business pitches.
  • Initiate and lead strategic marketing initiatives that build the reputation of WE’s Corporate expertise within the WE network and external marketplace.
  • Support and develop WE’s IP and marketing initiatives, helping to develop our position in the market and maximising the role of the Brand in Motion study for existing and potential clients.


Team and Client Leadership

  • Lead corporate accounts, overseeing corporate reputation and brand purpose programmes, developing multi-market campaigns and thought leadership
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communication plans addressing both internal and external stakeholders for clients.
  • Expected to use insights and general knowledge to suggest innovative approaches to client campaigns and communication challenges.
  • A trusted counsellor and key contact for clients and must therefore demonstrate a mature and confident approach to client counsel and support.
  • Taking responsibility for a portfolio of accounts and managing teams, developing junior team members, and line management responsibilities.
  • Delivering integrated communications strategies and campaign development for Global, EMEA and UK brands.


Commerciality & Operations

  • Ensure the profitability of your accounts through careful fiscal management.
  • Full responsibility for forecasting, team capacity and utilisation, budgeting, managing servicing levels.
  • Define scopes of work and budgets for new business responses.



SKILL & EXPERIENCE


  • Typically, 8 years’ experience working in corporate communications/reputation management for UK and international businesses (agency experience required).
  • Demonstrable experience in managing teams.
  • Extensive experience in issues & crisis, media relations, sustainability comms, and policy and regulation.
  • Experience in one or more areas including employee engagement, social impact, CEO/Executive comms.
  • Excellent ability to shape and deliver strategic advice to senior level clients.
  • Experience working with colleagues and clients in multiple locations/time zones; experience working on global teams a plus.
  • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to manage and mentor junior staff.
