Location: Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth
Job Type: 12-Month Contract or Permanent Position
Are you an experienced Architectural Support Engineer with a passion for modular building design and construction? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth. In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with a lead architect to deliver two state-of-the-art modular buildings while ensuring compliance with engineering and architectural standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the lead architect to address engineering aspects of modular building construction.
- Provide technical expertise for building design development and implementation.
- Ensure seamless integration of architectural and engineering systems in line with industry regulations and standards.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design and construction challenges effectively.
- Oversee the implementation and integration of building systems, including M&E, HVAC, and IT communications.
- Conduct weekly site visits to monitor project progress and enforce adherence to design and safety standards.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, drawings, and project documentation as needed.
Key Requirements:
- Educational Background: Degree in architecture or a related field with a strong architectural foundation.
- Modular Expertise: Demonstrated experience in modular building construction, focusing on structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Industry Standards: Knowledge of RIBA standards and relevant building regulations.
- Regulated Environments: Familiarity with M&E, HVAC, and IT communication systems is highly desirable.
- Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work within multidisciplinary teams to solve complex problems.
- Communication: Skilled in conveying technical information to diverse stakeholders.
- Security Clearance: UK Nationals only, due to the need for security clearance.
- Availability: Must be able to attend the site at least once a week.
Desirable Skills:
- Project Coordination: Experience in project coordination or project management.
- Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with construction safety and quality standards.
- Security Clearance: Existing SC clearance or eligibility to undergo security vetting.
