Lightning Sharks is transforming into a marketing, advertising and branding hub for blockchain clients across financial services, gaming, government, and public sector as well as clients in hospitality and property. We are not your typical agency though, responsible for the business and marketing strategy of our clients as well as the comms planning, campaigns and content to drive awareness and adoption of blockchain technology.

WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT
You will be a highly experienced and results-driven SEO Manager, passionate about leading and optimising our SEO efforts through effective management of external partnerships. This role is pivotal in expanding our organic reach and strengthening our brand’s digital presence and you will relish overseeing SEO partnerships, link-building initiatives, and content collaborations.
You will possess a deep understanding of SEO strategy, be an incredible project manager and passionate about working closely with partners, building great relationships and driving meaningful results for organic growth.

The SEO Manager will manage multiple campaigns to meet different objectives for brands within the blockchain space.
Partnership Management
- Identify, vet, and establish relationships with relevant SEO partners, including content platforms, agencies, and influencers.
- Develop partnership strategies to expand link-building, content exchange, and other collaborative SEO initiatives.
- Negotiate and manage contractual agreements, budgets, and KPIs with external partners.
Link-Building/Outreach
- Plan and execute scalable link-building campaigns with a focus on high-quality, relevant links.
- Oversee outreach initiatives to secure backlinks, guest posts, and other partnership-driven SEO assets.
- Monitor link quality and ensure compliance with Google’s link guidelines and best practices.
Content Collaboration/Co-Development
- Coordinate with external content creators to develop high-quality, SEO-optimized content that aligns with our brand voice.
- Drive joint content initiatives with partners, including blogs, white papers, case studies, and other content formats.
- Ensure all partner-created content aligns with SEO and branding goals.
Performance Tracking/Reporting
- Set, monitor, and report on SEO KPIs, including traffic, ranking improvements, and ROI from partnerships.
- Use tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and others to analyse performance and generate actionable insights.
- Provide regular performance updates to internal stakeholders, highlighting the impact of partnership-driven SEO initiatives.
Strategic Planning/Development
- Collaborate with the content teams to align external partnership activities with broader SEO strategies.
- Identify trends and opportunities for expanding SEO partnerships, considering industry changes and competitor activity.
- Propose new tactics for organic growth, including potential co-marketing and influencer partnerships.
Compliance/Quality Control
- Ensure all SEO initiatives comply with industry best practices, search engine algorithms, and company quality standards.
- Conduct regular audits of partner contributions and links to ensure quality, relevancy, and compliance.
- Address any issues related to SEO penalties or manual actions related to external partnerships.
Stakeholder Communication/Collaboration
- Coordinate across creative, social media, strategy and PMO teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact between SEO partners and internal teams, Offshore development team, facilitating collaboration and project alignment.
- Liaise with content, social media, and PR teams to create cohesive digital marketing strategies.
- Conduct periodic training or informational sessions on partnership-driven SEO initiatives for internal teams.

- Proven experience in SEO management, with a focus on external partnerships and link-building.
- Strong understanding of SEO tools, including Google Analytics, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Moz.
- Familiarity with content marketing, PR, and influencer marketing is a plus
- Strong project management, organisation, planning, decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding and fast paced environment
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, highly collaborative and emotionally intelligent
- Excellent relationship building, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Ability to analyse data and make strategic decisions based on insights.
- Proven ability to manage teams / stakeholders to ensure high standards and optimise performance
