In this position you will…


…be responsible for navigating the complex legal landscape of the insurance and tech industries. You will provide expert legal advice on cybersecurity policies, IT contracts, data risk management and SaaS agreements, and stay current on cybersecurity and technology trends and new regulations to support the company’s strategic objectives and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.


You will be responsible for…


  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of technology contracts, including software licensing, SaaS agreements, data protection agreements (DPAs), technology procurement contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Advising on legal issues related to artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and data protection, including incident response and breach notification requirements.
  • Collaborating with technology, data science, information security, tech risk, and business teams to assess and mitigate legal risks associated with new technologies, product development, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Monitoring and analyzing legislative developments affecting the tech industry, particularly in areas of cybersecurity, privacy, artificial intelligence, and intellectual property.
  • Developing and providing training to company employees on compliance with company policies including IT and cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings related to technology disputes.

You will require the following qualifications and skills


  • Legal qualification (eg: Juris Doctor degree) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 5 years of legal experience in technology law, with a focus on cybersecurity, data protection, technology, and SaaS.
  • Strong understanding of intellectual property law as it pertains to the tech industry.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work and lead autonomously and be comfortable with negotiating commercial and non-legal issues
  • Collaborative, growth mindset team player who can get their “hands dirty” and assist with a variety of tasks
