Maintenance Technician

Key Deliverables/Job Specifics:
- Install and maintain electrical, electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and data installations, systems, equipment, and components.
- Fault finding, diagnosis and repair of electrical and mechanical installation systems, equipment, and components.
- To manufacture pellets for Applications & R&D Projects, from Proof-of-Concept testing and preparation, through to final product optimisation testing at scale.
- To be able to operate all Lab Scale & Pilot Scale production equipment, including Pre-treatment equipment, such as milling devices and drying/curing technologies.
- To learn new and additional skills to expedite the production and testing of agglomerated pellets.
- Ensuring key equipment, spares and chemicals are available and maintained.
- Supporting the Technology Leadership Group (TLG) alongside external/customer site trials where appropriate.
- To provide clear communication of observations and learnings to allow the tracking of IP during the development process.
- To support the handling and organisation of Raw Materials and Binders to ensure materials are managed in a secure manner.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably requested to support process operations.
- Always demonstrate the highest personal health and safety standards.
Operating Various Plant site equipment:
- Gas rotary mini curing dryer 1tph capacity
- Ball mill iron ore grinding mini plant – 1-2tph plant capacity
- Pilot plant, including feeding conveyors, motors, gearboxes, mixers, HMI software systems, and PLC cabinets.
- Mini roller presses
- Mini mixers
- Various testing machinery computerised and automated
- Compressed air systems
- Various gas burners and RIG’s system for Hot testing developments
- Extractor fan systems ATEX-approved
- Planned shutdowns and ad hoc work equipment
Qualifications/Experience:
- HNC/HND level qualification
- 5 - 10 years of hands-on maintenance experience
- Welding and plant engineering maintenance
- Experience in industrial processing/operations
- Exposure to a wider range of industries welcome
- Innovative – ability to question and research a solution to a problem
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels within the company.
- Ability to work under their own initiative.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
