HSJ Information Ltd (previously Wilmington Healthcare) covers HSJ Market Intelligence, the UK’s most advanced NHS Data Analysis agency: HSJ Advisory, a consultancy specialising in NHS-Industry partnership and market access; HSJ, the journal for healthcare leaders and HSJ Events, inspiring healthcare leaders to transform patient care.
We partner with hundreds of life science companies – pharma, MedTech, diagnostics, and digital – to optimise their planning, execute their launch, and advance their customer engagement, and ultimately build partnerships with the NHS.
Our Head of Sales will be responsible for driving long-term quality revenue growth to increase the overall value of the HSJ Events & Marketing Solutions business.
Main duties and responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
- Oversee the performance and development of our Sponsorship Sales Team and Delegate Sales Team, ensuring clear objectives, coaching, and accountability.
- Foster a high-performance sales culture through coaching and talent development.
- Set individual and team sales targets to exceed the annual and 3-year sales plan.
- Plans, authors, and implements the sales strategy for HSJ events and MS.
- Forecasts sales performance accurately, flagging risks and mitigation.
- As part of our Events Senior Leadership Team and our HSJ Sales Leadership Team contributes to the overall direction of growth and improvement.
- Identifies new business opportunities to increase repeat revenues and attract new customers.
- Builds and maintains strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Consistently measures and tracks effective KPIs.
- Ensures teams’ client facing activity beats standards and expectations.

You will also need:
- Proven ability to lead, manage and inspire high-performing sales teams.
- Extensive experience in sales leadership in b2b event sales and marketing solutions.
- Experience designing sales processes and methods for effective sales productivity.
- Strong competency in sales planning, consultative selling, closing, account management, new business, as well as other core sales skills.
- CRM (ideally Salesforce) expertise to effectively analyse and improve performance.
- Strong commercial acumen and a data-driven approach to sales strategy.
- Exceptional relationship building and negotiation skills.
