Howden Joinery is looking for an articulate and driven individual to join our team as a Continuous Improvement Engineer based at our state-of-the-art solid surfaces manufacturing facility in Holmes on Spalding Moor.

This facility produces high-end, made-to-order bespoke worktops. The role will involve spearheading, facilitating, and overseeing continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving world-class performance and workplace organisation standards. You will have a high degree of autonomy, empowering you to devise a strategic roadmap encompassing short-, mid-, and long-term goals, developed collaboratively with all site functions.

Ideal candidates will possess a solid understanding of continuous improvement and process improvement methodologies and proficiency in operations. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for effectively leading and supporting improvement endeavours.

What will you be doing as a Continuous Improvement Engineer:

  • Identification and delivery of improvement projects
  • Identification of process and machinery improvements through CI and lean methodologies to improve product quality and operational efficiency
  • Leading and facilitating continuous improvement workshops and training sessions
  • Developing, supporting, and governing the use of lean tools and techniques to support business improvement initiatives?

What do you need to qualify for the Continuous Improvement Engineer:

  • Proven experience in lean process improvements, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Ability to utilise and champion LEAN / Six Sigma / and business improvement techniques
  • Demonstrated success in multi-function team engagement, including mentoring and empowering others to lead and deliver improvements
  • Understanding of HSE requirements within a manufacturing environment
  • Track and communicate results at all levels within the business
  • Lean Six Sigma black/green belt or other recognised business improvement qualifications
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools, such as Excel & Minitab
  • Great?communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
