Position Overview


We are seeking an experienced DevOps & Build Engineer to work closely with the wider studio teams and help us design, deploy, and maintain our CI/CD and build infrastructure, which enables our development teams to produce our key products and build our games.

You will work with us, sharing responsibility and accountability for our CI/CD infrastructure, which includes managing our growing TeamCity installation, Perforce Helix Core server, and associated build agents. You will collaborate closely with the game development teams to provide the scale and stability needed to support growing business needs across all our supported platforms.


Key Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with software development teams to implement and maintain efficient CI/CD pipelines for game projects
  • Configure and manage the build agent environment to support game builds across various platforms (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Linux)
  • Troubleshoot the build deployment environment to ensure timely and reliable build and test job configurations
  • Collaborate with studio teams in designing and implementing infrastructure to support and maintain our CI/CD build environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to ensure services we provide and support are creating efficiencies to drive improvements
  • Optimise CI/CD build infrastructure to cope with increasing demand, utilising metrics and data
  • Collaborate with peer engineers to manage job configurations using TeamCity UI and via code using the Kotlin language
  • Investigate new tools and technologies that would improve our environment, stay on the pulse of emerging technologies
  • Identify opportunities for automating processes and support within the CI/CD build environment
  • Work closely with our IT team on the delivery of projects, including automation, AI and security


Knowledge, Skills, and Experience


Essential


  • Thorough knowledge and experience using TeamCity CI/CD platform and Perforce VCS (Helix Core) driving improvements and innovation
  • Proficiency in Bash, Python, HCL (Terraform), Kotlin, PowerShell, Azure CLI, and other scripting languages
  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC), Configuration-as-Code (CaC) tools like Ansible, Terraform and native CLI’s/API’sExperience supporting Linux and Windows server environments, including using VMware and Docker
  • Experience working with Jenkins
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerisation technologies plus applications architectures


Preferred


  • Good understanding of Apple Mac environments
  • Proficiency monitoring and logging tools such as Zabbix, Prometheus and Grafana
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure: networking, storage, and security
  • Good understanding of cloud technologies, with a particular emphasis on Azure
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Collaborative team player
  • Works well under pressure
  • Strong prioritisation skills
