Job Title: Functional Applications Service (FAS) Specialist-Assurer - UK Defence

Who are we?

Purpose / role of the group:
The FAS Specialist - Assurer will work as part of the Hexegic project team, within the Defence arena, focusing on the UK national military requirements and collaboratively working with NATO and non-NATO members.
The role entails working closely with other allied nations to achieve the common goal of ‘Day Zero’ interoperability. The ideal candidate will have NATO FAS expertise and working knowledge in a Ground to Air Information Exchange environment.
Activities:
- FAS Specialist-Assurer
- SME/SQEP for customer RFIs and RFCs
- Attend international Working Groups – 1 per Qtr
- Attend multi-national exercises – 2 per annum
- Attend multi-national exercise planning conferences – as required
- Attend bi-weekly teleconference – as required
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Detailed knowledge of installation, configuration and use of NATO applications
- Desirable to also include where applicable Non-NATO applications
- Lead for specific Assurance events
- Report Writing detailing the outputs, outcomes, observations and recommendations from events in accordance with direction.
- Desk Top Analysis
- Quick Look Reports
- Interoperability, Security, Capability Reports
- Attendance at meetings, planning conferences and working groups as required.
- Support the Team Lead when required to advise Defence with reference to FMN Spiral Specifications, Assurance activities and any other matters.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience and knowledge of working in both a national and multi-national defence environments through exercise and or experimentation.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of NATO FAS their functionality and interoperability
- Qualified or with commensurate experience in NATO FAS
- Knowledge of C4ISR products and processes
- Knowledge of FMN Spiral Specifications
- Knowledge of Agile Project Management principles and working
- Awareness of JSP440 and Secure by Design (SbD) principles
- Working knowledge in architectural frameworks such as TOGAF
Desirable:
- Experience and knowledge of working in the UK Armed Forces.
- Experience and knowledge of working in a Ground to Air Information Exchange environment.
