You are a highly skilled and motivated individual with a Level 3 NVQ in Light Motor Mechanics, or equivalent, and relevant qualifications in HGV maintenance or plant equipment. Your background includes experience with diverse fleets and proficiency in using diagnostic equipment to address faults effectively, with a comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety practices. You possess strong communication skills, with fluency in English (essential) and Welsh (desirable), and exhibit excellent problem-solving abilities. Capable of working independently or within a team, you adopt a proactive approach to overcoming challenges. Possession of a comprehensive toolkit and a Class B license are essential, while advanced driving categories are desired. Your professionalism and commitment are evident in your dedication to delivering timely and cost-effective service.
What the Job InvolvesThe role involves the maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles and equipment in alignment with manufacturers' recommendations and legislative standards. You will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the workshop facilities, liaising with departments for optimal service delivery, and performing regular maintenance, including pre-MOT assessments. Your expertise includes diagnosing and repairing electrical vehicle issues, as well as providing support for roadside recovery when necessary. Responsibilities also include maintaining documentation and electronic systems, ordering and testing parts, and collaborating with fleet management to ensure cost-effective repairs while offering technical guidance and support. Your role extends to fostering positive working relationships, adhering to Authority policies, and promoting health and safety practices department-wide. Prompt reporting of any safeguarding concerns is required. You may undertake additional tasks to maintain departmental efficiency, and your duties may involve collaboration with emergency services during recovery activities under various weather conditions.
