As an Accounts Payable Assistant joining the team, you will play a key role in supporting transactional duties; ensuring that bank accounts are captured and reconciled in a timely manner and accounts payable and accounts receivable records are accurate.


About your responsibilities:

Cash and bank:

  • Daily and monthly posting of the company Credit Card expenses and follow-up with the relevant card holder for adherence to the Company Expenses Policy


Accounts Payable:

  • Monitoring of the account's email inbox and clearing relevant emails to specific vendor folders
  • Respond to all vendor queries in a timely manner
  • Send bills to the relevant Departments for approval and follow up when not received
  • Process vendor bills into the general ledger
  • Review and accounts approve Expense Reports from employees
  • Assisting with the weekly payment runs and answering any queries raised


Other tasks:

  • Add new vendors or customers in NetSuite and ensure that mandatory fields as well as correct documentation is attached to vendor account (e.g. bank details, payment terms, incoterms)
  • Daily sales report
  • Other ad hoc duties as required


About you:

  • Experience in Retail Finance will be needed
  • Keen eye and attention to detail
  • Interest in the accounting field, shown by a degree or diploma in finance / accounting or previous work experience in finance
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
  • Be a team player and willing to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the finance team
  • Take pride in the work performed
  • Knowledge of Netsuite and Shopify is desirable
  • Good working knowledge of Excel & its main functions
