About the role

This role is an excellent and unique opportunity to make an impact by growing an insurance claims function within a specialist insurtech and certified B-Corporation company.


We’re seeking an ambitious, passionate Technical Claims Manager to organise, structure and grow our claims function. This person’s role will lead our claims team and range from servicing and handling open market claims to helping build tech functionality and processes to enable smooth claims handling and reporting for clients of all sizes across retail and wholesale distribution channels.


You will have your own caseload of claims, predominantly from our advised financial lines book of business, which primarily consists of professional indemnity, cyber, D&O, employment practices, and some of our larger property claims. So, there is a real mix of claims from a wide variety of clients. We don’t have siloed working, our claims team is unique and has a wide range of knowledge across various products and claims types, meaning no two days are the same.

  • You’ll have a deep understanding of financial lines and commercial insurance claims.
  • You possess 5+ years of hands-on claims experience and knowledge of how claims are handled across the London and general insurance markets.
  • You’ll have excellent negotiation skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with insurer claims teams.
  • You’ll be able to read policy documents like a book and quickly and correctly identify key claims requirements and processes.
  • Ideally, you’ll have experience managing claims on a delegated basis, as our claims team has delegated claims authority to handle the end-to-end claims process.
  • You’ll ideally have experience leading and developing a growing team or be keen to enhance your leadership and management skills.

  • Articulating our claims value proposition internally and externally
  • Providing consistently exceptional service to our clients through the claims process
  • Working alongside our broking teams in pitching to both new and existing clients
  • Developing insurer and producer relationships to manage and negotiate claims terms
  • Coaching and mentoring junior colleagues within the company, demonstrating ‘what good looks like’.
  • Providing technical insight on policy wordings and claims processes.
