This role will be the catalyst for business growth and will be pivotal in the success of Axicom in the future. This is a unique opportunity to build the reputation and drive growth for the only tech specialist agency in the Burson House of Brands and join a team of dynamic leaders with innovative skill sets.

About us

We are an earned first integrated communications agency with offices in Amsterdam, Austin, Los Angeles, London, Madrid, Milan, Munich, New York, Paris, San Francisco, Brazil, Mexico and Stockholm.

We are proud to be awarded Best Agency To Work For EMEA Network by Provoke in 2024 (fourth time in 5 years) as well as shortlisted as Technology Agency of the Year in 2024 for the EMEA Sabre Awards.

Non-conformists since ‘94, we work with tech brands and brands with a tech story to communicate their vision. We fuse hindsight with foresight to spot emerging trends and reveal the trendlines behind the hype. We do this by combining insights with innovation, creativity with curiosity, IQ with EQ, and science with art. Always blending deep tech smarts with a global reach and hometown heart.

Our bespoke tools and data-driven intelligence means we know what works now and what will work next to help our clients show up differently and deliver bold, data-driven communication strategies that create impact on business, people, and society.

What we’re looking for

To be considered for this position, you will be ambitious, thrive on challenges and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You will have an entrepreneurial spirit and be confident leading teams and stepping out of your comfort zone.

You should have at least 15 years of experience in a Public Relations agency, in a role reflecting experience in business development, leadership and finance management.

You must have in-depth knowledge and experience in working within the B2B technology sector and have an enviable network.

We value intelligence, integrity, and initiative.

You should have

  • Experience of creating, nurturing and managing relationships with multiple, diverse clients
  • Proven experience growing existing business and winning new business
  • Confidence in presenting ideas and providing smart counsel while representing the agency, group/department and clients in an engaging manner
  • Experience in managing P&Ls

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear understanding of financial metrics and agency management
  • An understanding of operating in a multi-market environment, building business across an international network
  • Proven success in supporting global and/or multinational client engagements
  • Excellent communication skills – active listening, negotiation and persuasion internally and externally
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, strong leadership qualities and a team player attitude

Responsibilities

  • Business Development – Take a lead role in driving new business identification and conversion and bringing best practice to the rest of the agency.
  • Reputation building – Continually seek opportunities to network and market Axicom
  • Support in UK Profit & Loss Management and Accountability.
  • Contribute to Strategic Business Development - New revenue is proactively identified and converted through existing and new business opportunities.
  • Assist in Client Retention and Development - Client portfolios and retention targets are proactively and strategically managed.
  • Agency Role Model - Be a champion for attaining the highest possible professional standards at all levels within the agency
  • Talent Management – Work closely with HR to identify the future leaders of Axicom.
  • Staff development - Serve as a coach & mentor to the leadership team and help to build high-performing teams imbued with a sense of teamwork and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Collaboration – Work with the other stakeholders in UK, EMEA and globally to share business opportunities to deliver high quality collaborative work.
  • Finance Management - assist in maintaining and monitoring UK budgets
  • Diversity and Inclusion – Create an inclusive and welcoming environment by demonstrating flexibility in a changing work environment and by using self-awareness to deflect biases

You’ll be perfect for this role if…

  • You have a passion for technology
  • You're able to simultaneously focus on the big picture, details and driving results
  • You enjoy leading teams
  • You believe culture drives success
  • You are highly self motivated
  • You are looking for a role where you can actively make a difference to future success
