About the Team and Role


The insurance pricing team works closely with Inigo’s data scientists and engineers and with underwriting and claims, leveraging data and analytics to provide an objective and independent view of underwriting strategy, pricing and risk selection.


A modern and data-driven pricing approach, leveraging new technology and external datasets, is a cornerstone of Inigo’s strategy and is paramount in today’s dynamic market.

The pricing analyst will work closely with the lead pricing actuary to develop pricing models and processes, directly supporting the underwriting teams, gaining first-hand insight to all stages of the pricing process.


The focus will be on building exposure rating models for day-to-day underwriting, as well as individual account pricing and portfolio management. The use of analytical and programming techniques will play a significant part.


The individual will be involved with preparing analyses, reports and exhibits and will be expected take an active part in communicating the results and output of models to the business.

There will be ample opportunity for the individual to challenge themselves and apply their knowledge to solve complex problems. A competitive study package will be provided, along with wider development opportunities as Inigo grows.


The successful candidate will do this by:


  • Developing best-in-class pricing models for all Specialty lines of business.
  • Updating pricing models to meet underwriters’ changing needs and evolving market conditions.
  • Preparing class of business portfolio MI, exhibits and dashboards
  • Building consistent and scalable pricing processes to improve efficiency and robustness.
  • Ensuring the development, monitoring and optimisation of pricing models and methodologies.
  • Researching and analysis of external data to validate pricing models & provide underwriting insight
  • Fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


To do this, we’re going to need you to have:


  • Made good progression in actuarial examinations
  • Pricing or reserving experience with a Lloyd’s syndicate or London Market insurer (excellent candidates with pricing experience outside of these markets will be considered)
  • A keen interest in finding creative solutions to complex business problems
  • A commercially approach, and be able to communicate and build relationships with different stakeholders
  • An entrepreneurial drive and self-starter attitude
  • A curious nature, research skills & willingness to take new initiatives
  • Experience with data manipulation, databases and the implementation of actuarial techniques
  • Proficiency in programming (SQL, VBA, R, Python, etc.) would be beneficial
