So, what’s it all about?


Following an internal promotion, we’re seeking a Quality Manager to join our brilliant team at our Avonmouth bakery. As Quality Manager, you’ll be the eyes and ears for the Technical Manager and have the opportunity to truly own quality in our iconic brand. At Hovis we set our standards high, aiming to be audit ready everyday – as testament to this, at Avonmouth we just achieved a AA* BRC result


As Quality Manager, you’ll be enjoy engaging with people and want to have a positive impact every day on our colleagues and our standards. You’ll aim to inspire and build impactful, positive relationships; coaching and educating our colleagues to drive better standards. You'll own what you do and have a knack for influencing different stakeholders to achieve a positive result.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Ensuring the site meets company, retailer, industry, operational and legal standards.
  • Providing technical support to other site functions and the wider business.
  • Managing complaints investigations, determining root causes, and implementing timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Leading and efficiently closing external audits.
  • Managing the internal audit program to promote compliance and drive improvement.
  • Developing and delivering food safety and quality training programs.
  • Investigating food safety, compliance, and quality issues, identifying root causes, and implementing preventive actions and corrective action programmes to foster continuous improvement.
  • Providing trend information and reports on key quality/safety indicators and implementing measures for ongoing enhancement.
  • Actively participating as a member of the HACCP team.
  • You will be able to understand workstreams and identify critical paths from a delivery perspective.


What are ‘must haves’ from you?


  • Experience within an FMCG environment
  • HACCP Level 3 or above.
  • Auditing experience; supported and/or lead multiple audits
