Job Summary:


To provide efficient and effective maintenance support to A-SAFE, including ensuring the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with required standards.


How You Can Help Us


  • To undertake general items of repair and maintenance to the fabric of all A-Safe premises, including the minor repair of fixtures, fittings and building fabric.
  • Responsible for all planned preventative maintenance on site.
  • To carry out simple plumbing tasks including fixing leaks, unblocking sinks and drains etc.
  • To deal with general repairs where necessary as instructed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • To deal with minor electrical repairs.
  • Regularly check external areas for any potential danger to staff and visitors to site.
  • To provide out of hours support in emergencies.
  • Competent at basic building including securing loose flags or stones, minor pointing and general repairs.
  • Competent at basic joinery including hanging of doors, fitting locks, minor repairs to dry walls & stud work, and general building maintenance.
  • Competent at general decorating, painting and wall papering.
  • Competent at assembling office furniture.
  • Competence in basic plumbing including applying sealant, replacing taps, wastes and toilet flushes, bleeding radiators and tightening of loose connections/valves.
  • Competent in using small industrial/electrical/mechanical equipment such as electric drills, grinders, sander, chop saw, multi tool, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures and precautions, including COSHH regulations and an awareness of health and hygiene procedures.
  • Literacy and Numeracy skills enough to check delivery notes, measurements etc.
  • Able to regularly handle/carry items.
  • Good communication to plan work for week ahead and feedback on completed tasks.
