What You Can Expect

  • The freedom to improve and streamline the month end process and internal financial reporting deliverables, always ensuring we meet local and group reporting requirements
  • Maintain the financial reporting control environment in accordance with SOX requirements
  • Support the management accounts process by identifying errors, extracting insights, and conducting thorough variance analysis to achieve an exec/board-ready standard.
  • Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, identify discrepancies, implement process improvements, and mentor junior team members to enhance their reconciliations.
  • Drive clarity and insights on the balance sheet through in-depth analysis, presenting regular review decks for the Group Financial Controller to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Systems team to identify and implement process improvements, better utilising Workday in areas including but not limited to: statutory accounts process, fixed asset depreciation schedule, IFRS 16 lease schedule, accruals, payroll journals etc
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors to ensure compliance requirements are met
  • High quality and efficient preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Lead and support on finance transformation and ad-hoc projects, to support the global finance tribe
  • Develop and mentor junior members across the Reporting & Accounting team
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with colleagues across finance globally

What We Are Looking For

  • A professional accounting qualification
  • Experience of working in Big 4 and/or multinational experience
  • Demonstrated progression in prior roles with increasing responsibility, showcasing accountability and ownership of tasks
  • Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS; familiarity with US GAAP is advantageous
  • Experience in working within a SOX control environment and driving process improvements
  • Exemplifies our company values, fostering teamwork and enabling exceptional team performance
  • Capable of engaging and collaborating effectively with colleagues across finance.
  • Someone with the drive and determination to succeed in our fast paced and ever-growing environment
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, adept at managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Possesses a positive, can-do attitude and demonstrates creative thinking
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse cultures in a dynamic international setting
  • Previous experience with Workday Financials is helpful

This role can be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh
