Junior Broadcast Motion Designer (VizRT Developer Training)


As a broadcast motion designer you will learn and develop a number of important skills necessary for delivering large-scale global broadcast projects. As well as developing skills in traditional motion design applications such as Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D or Unreal Engine, you will primarily focus on Viz Artist, our tool of choice for producing real-time on-screen graphics, augmented reality graphics and virtual studio environments.


You will be trained in VizRT Artist by one of our experts, but you need to be able to demonstrate that you can apply your motion graphics skills when using the software. VizRT Artist is able to control large amounts of data, so being able to think about data workflows and have a basic understanding of scripting concepts to control this data is key. Live production can also be full of surprises, so being able to have the foresight to handle unexpected scenarios is important.

The role requires strong organisational and time management skills, to ensure delivery deadlines are met. The ideal candidate will be able to solve problems and think creatively and ‘outside of the box’. We have a great workforce at Girraphic, so being able to work in a team as well as independently is very important.


Whilst this position is advertised in the UK, the applicant would be a resource available to all Girraphic’s offices. Therefore, the candidate must be comfortable with international travel. As part of the candidates professional development being able to experience on-site delivery of projects will be an important facet of the job.


This is a full-time role, ideally in office. Hybrid working is allowed, however, for a junior we would expect them to be in the office 3 days a week to help with the learning process. Non-traditional hours may be required depending on clients needs, travel schedules, etc.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Learn the inner workings of VizRT to help with real-time graphic packages for various clients
  • Providing concept creation, design, VizRT build, data integration, implementation, operational training.
  • Support of VizRT Real-Time, live graphics packages for various clients.
  • Support the design team in creating sales decks, concepts and assets for broadcast delivery .
  • Providing assistance with graphic designs and on air implementation to customers.
  • Installation and test of graphics systems in office and at customer sites.
  • On-going maintenance and updating of existing on-screen graphics packages.
  • Troubleshooting issues with Real-Time graphics platforms.
  • Assisting, building and implementing new on-screen graphics and graphic assets on a daily basis,
  • closely following briefs and working to tight deadlines.
  • Implementation of immediate graphics or functionality changes when necessary.
  • Establishing and building strong working relationships with all relevant clients involved in the production pipeline from creation to playout, both internally and with third party suppliers.
  • Demonstrate ability to work underpressure in a live production environment
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally. Passport required.


Desirable Qualifications:


  • Experience in creating motion graphics sequences
  • Experience in using different 2D/3D motion graphics software applications
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in broadcast technologies (although not necessary).
  • Has experience with or understanding of scripting languages.
  • Willing work beyond normal business hours.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
  • Must have a passport
