Senior Building Surveyor - Permanent position


Location: London (Nova North) or Epsom offices; flexible working from home available



Key Responsibilities:


Project Management: Oversee and manage Building Surveying duties across multiple projects in different sectors.

Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong client relationships; ensure high-quality service delivery on a project-by-project basis.

Business Development: Assist in generating new business opportunities and repeat business.

Contract Management: Utilize and apply standard building contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) effectively.

Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on industry issues and best practices.

Framework Management: Deliver projects under framework agreements.

Sector Experience: Work on projects involving education, local authorities, healthcare, central government, and infrastructure.

Defect Analysis: Conduct building surveys, analyze defects, and produce detailed reports and specifications.

Quality & Safety: Apply principles of quality, health, safety, and environmental management in project management.

Team Contribution: Support senior managers in business operations, project management, and mentoring junior colleagues.


Additional Duties:


Project Oversight: Manage and administer contracts for larger projects.

Surveys: Conduct due diligence, condition, and measured surveys.

Project Leadership: Design and lead small to medium-sized construction projects.

Professional Services: Handle party walls, asset management, and statutory applications.


Requirements:


Qualifications: BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying; RICS Accredited degree.

Membership: Full member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Experience: Demonstrated all-round surveying experience with pre and post-contract project management.

Flexibility: Willingness to travel as required.

IT Skills: Proficiency in Word and Excel; experience with AutoCAD and NBS; Revit knowledge is advantageous.

BIM Knowledge: Understanding of BIM Level 2.

Team Leadership: Ability to manage and mentor team members, including APC graduates.

Client Management: Experience in managing client expectations and relationships.

Compliance: Adherence to legal, professional, and corporate standards.
