Keen to advise the salary and bonus levels stated are very much Indicative, i.e. an individual who has been in the top 3 in their Cohorts at Bachelor's and Master's level from an elite Uni, who has domain (Sell or Buy side) with expert C++, deep Linux (to Kernel), can achieve > these numbers.

  • Indicative Salary: £110k-£160k (* based on experience level)

Profile of candidates desired by the Head of Market Making -

  • 1st class academics in ComSci / Software Engineering ideally, with other STEM (Physics and Math) considered
  • 2-5 years industry experience post academia
  • Passion and excellent C++ programming skills from V14 onwards, including Classes, STL, Templates (Bespoke), Multithreading and Concurrency.
  • Understanding of Linux fundamentals
  • Tenacious, personable, apolitical. This is a meritocratic structure therefore not suited to those seeking leadership, requires execution focused and collegiate (collaborative ethos, NOT internally competitive) mindset, with a lust for mastery of your craft (someone abreast of developments by WG21 committee)
  • Excellent problem solving skills, strong numeracy-level
  • Familiarity with HackerRank, LeetCode, et al, is beneficial for the interview process, albeit this is very much a blended approach (Live Coding, 'White Board' work, Verbal technical discussion) rather than low-touch
  • Genuine interest in ultra low latency and high performance systems (a background in high through put or ULL from any sector apps and architecture strongly preferred).
