Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sponsorship Sales Manager to join our dynamic team and lead the charge in driving events revenue across multiple channels.


This pivotal role requires someone capable of developing and executing strategies to secure high-value sponsorships, manage key client relationships, and maximize revenues from advertising and delegate sales. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in event sponsorship sales, exceptional client management skills, and the ability to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.


In addition to direct sales efforts, you will mentor a team of Delegate Acquisition Executives, setting clear goals and fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment. Your leadership will ensure the team meets and exceeds sales targets while contributing to the overall growth of our business.


This role requires a strategic and proactive mindset, combining creativity and commercial acumen to deliver results. You will work closely with marketing and content teams to create compelling sponsorship and advertising packages, monitor industry trends, and develop innovative approaches to client engagement.


You will be required to sell sponsorship opportunities across both our paid-for conferences and sponsor-led Summit series which is held in cities around the world, throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Direct Sales:

  1. Engage directly in high-level sales efforts, showcasing strong personal sales skills to drive revenue.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with key clients and partners to secure long-term sponsorships and partnerships.
  3. Manage a book of sponsorship business and work with stakeholder across the business to develop sales pipelines across strategic sectors
  4. Negotiate and close complex deals with high-value clients.

2. Collaboration & Communication:

  1. Work cross-functionally with event production and operations teams to align efforts and ensure seamless event execution.
  2. Collaborate with leadership to provide insights and reports on sales trends, forecasts, and market feedback.
  3. Act as the main point of contact between the sales team and senior management, ensuring transparent communication and strategic alignment.

3. Mentoring & team leadership:

  1. Work with delegate acquisition team to ensure events are well attended and delegate prospects are maximized, particularly for our sponsor-led Summit series.
  2. Guide junior sales executives on developing strategic relationships that create prospects across sponsorship sales, delegate sales and advertising.


Key Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sales management within the events industry or a related field, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Experience in B2B sales, particularly in high-value events or sponsorships, is a plus.

• Leadership Skills: Experience in senior sales position and working with junior sales colleagues to develop strategic pipelines.

• Sales Acumen: Strong personal selling capabilities with a history of closing large deals and building client relationships.

• Strategic Mindset: Ability to create, execute, and adjust sales strategies to maximize revenue and adapt to changing market conditions.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Relationship Management: Adept at building and maintaining relationships with key clients and partners to drive business development.

• Team Player: Ability to collaborate across departments and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

• Flexibility: Willingness to travel for events as needed and work flexible hours to meet global time zones.
