Role Description

This is a full-time remote role as a Senior Account Manager in London. The role involves day-to-day tasks such as managing client accounts, building strong relationships with Independent Bars, Restaurants and Hotels, and driving business growth. As a key player in our team, you will be responsible for supporting clients in their sales and distribution strategies.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience in key account management or sales in the drinks industry
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Strong understanding of sales and distribution strategies
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of the UK and international drinks market
  • Wine and spirit WSET qualifications desirable


Key Responsibilities and duties:

· To achieve the minimum requirement of meeting all brand volume and distribution targets set, whilst planning to exceed all targets.

o As part of achieving brand volume and distribution targets, there are minimum call rates expected as part of the standard working week. These standards are a minimum of six on premise calls per day, with clear route planning to achieve this number of calls. Of the six calls per day a minimum of three calls should be by appointment.

o All leads provided by the sales office and brand owners will be contacted and acted upon within three working days.

· To achieve success across all business and personal objectives agreed as part of the plan for each financial year.

· The generation of sales leads to achieve the required number of active prospect accounts, as agreed as part of annual plans.

· The development of prospect accounts to live accounts with regular trading patterns.

· To prepare and present proposals to prospective new accounts in line with specific brand marketing strategies, and company guidelines.

· To provide effective management information in line with company reporting procedures.

o All weekly reports to be received by the sales office by 10am Monday morning at the latest

o All account information to be kept up to date with copies held in the sales office for reference.

· To attend company events as required, this may include working evenings or weekends.

· Upon request to host days in trade with representatives of key suppliers.

Key Competencies/ personal specification:

· Strong interpersonal skills required to facilitate management of relationships both internal and external.

· A strong Team player who must have drive and motivation to develop within the existing company structure.

· An analytical thinker to enable quick assessment of potential account needs.

· Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

· Computer literacy must be at a high standard, with understanding of the key elements of Microsoft Office – PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

· A strong understanding of the drinks industry will be essential, with focus on current business trends within the UK on premise sector.
