Role Description
A London based venture capital firm is looking for a newly created HR Manager role for one of the portfolio companies – Longbow Management Services UK.
Longbow Management Services UK Limited is a hospitality portfolio company with operations in the UK and Italy. As we scale up our team to support our strategic development, we are seeking an HR Manager to contribute to our ambitious vision.
Reporting directly to the COO, the HR Manager will play a key role in ensuring the well-being of our workforce and driving the development of the company through effective human resource management.
Success in this role will require the ability to thrive in an ever-evolving environment while maintaining a productive, engaged, and legally compliant workforce.
Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of an HR strategy that complements our hospitality brand, driving organizational effectiveness and enhancing employee engagement.
Training and Development: Set exemplary standards of training and development within your team; support and equip managers with the necessary tools to develop their teams.
Recruitment: Develop and implement recruitment SOPs, guidelines, and standards for operations teams. Support directors and managers with recruitment activities.
Onboarding and Induction: Develop a best-in-class onboarding and induction process for all employees and oversee its implementation. Collaborate with the Operations Manager to create bespoke induction programs for team members.
Training Plans: Work with operations on training and development plans for various team members. Oversee external trainers/coaches on various projects.
Performance Management: Support operations in creating robust systems and processes for team member evaluation, development, and performance management (where required).
Employee Relations: Support operations in managing employee relations, including disciplinaries, grievances, and dismissals, and ensure fit-for-purpose policies and procedures.
Employment Law: Lead more complex ER issues with a solid understanding of UK employment law, especially as it relates to hospitality (e.g., TRONC).
HR Documentation and Compliance: Take ultimate responsibility for all HR documentation and compliance across the business, including regular audits and reporting.
HR Platforms: Lead on all HR platforms used across the business; support sites with training and audits.
Employee Benefits: Develop and implement a best-in-class employee benefits program.
Communications: Responsible for all company-wide communications, relevant organizational and people announcements, team newsletters, etc.
Payroll Processing: Support accurate and compliant payroll processing.
Organizational Structure: Support company directors with organizational structure development, ensuring clear lines of communication, reporting lines, and ways of working. Work closely with the COO to nurture a positive culture across the business.

Education: Relevant university degree, BA or equivalent.
Language Skills: Fluency in English & Italian
