Job Responsibilities

  • Continually develop technical knowledge ensuring compliance with GMP, customer requirements, process flow, safety critical operations and control strategy
  • The control philosophy of the process and use this expertise to provide support/coaching to operations staff.
  • Be a subject matter expert in the fundamental theory of each unit operation, maintain mass and energy balances and understand cycle time limitations..
  • Apply knowledge of the process cost structure and understand the key levers of how it can be impacted.
  • Complete periodic reviews of technical documents.
  • Represent the Technical Operations team as required at multidisciplinary production team meetings.
  • Complete root cause investigations into process/equipment deviations
  • Partner with QCL, QA, engineering, operations and scheduling to support with day-to-day enquiries, investigations and complaints.
  • Support internal and external audits when required.
  • Coach and support operations staff to optimise day to day process operation (e.g. energy efficiency vs yield).
  • Champion Process Safety Management processes including (COMAH, DSEAR and Client processes).
  • Own PHR’s and implement recommendations.
  • Maintain Process Safety Information.
  • Investigate safety and environmental incidents.
  • Help maintain site IPPC permit.
  • Be the Process Representative and point of contact for capital projects.
  • Provide input and align with the Project Team regarding commissioning and qualification requirements.
  • Work alongside the Project Team to ensure project timelines and milestones are met.


Requirements

  • Chemical engineering degree.
  • Exemplary analytical skill, communication style and organisational ability.
  • 1-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Chartered Chemical Engineer IChemE Chartered member) or working towards - Desirable
