Regionally our client is winning some really sought after exciting tenders located between Exeter and Taunton, and are looking for a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team.
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage costs and contracts for our high-profile commercial projects. Based out of their Bristol office, this role will involve regular site work between Exeter and Taunton where you will spend the majority of your time. The successful candidate will ensure financial efficiency and project viability while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and management of cost estimates and budgets for large-scale commercial projects.
- Conduct detailed measurement and valuation of work in progress.
- Prepare and manage tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
- Oversee project finances and prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Negotiate contracts and procure necessary materials and services.
- Assess, approve, and manage subcontractor invoices and claims.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior quantity surveyors within the team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the commercial construction sector.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, CostX).
