Place within the Business

You will be reporting directly to a Senior Cost Consultant or Associate Director. You will also be provided with coaching and support to facilitate career development planning as required.


What your day would involve

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of the day-to-day cost management services to our clients across chosen projects.
  • Regular supervision of at least one junior member of staff, at assistant level. Line management where appropriate to do so.
  • Delivery of our services in both pre and post contract environments, including cost control, cost planning and procurement. This will include (but may not be limited to);
  • Production of order of cost estimates and cost plans
  • Supply chain engagement
  • Budget reconciliations
  • Proactive attendance at design team meetings / design workshops
  • Preparation of tender documents
  • Tender analysis, recommendation reports
  • Negotiation and Contract preparation
  • Cost reporting
  • Preparation of order of cost estimates
  • Contribution to an area of innovation and / or knowledge initiative within wider Cast Cost Management business.
  • Collation of cost data to share with wider Cast business.
  • Lead in the application of cost reporting and contract administration roles on site.
  • Take responsibility for the preparation of monthly site valuations and processing Contractor applications for payment.
  • Creation and maintenance of close relationships with the appropriate level representative for your clients
  • Undertaking of quality assurance checking (QA) and compliance with key process to ensure outputs are delivered with accuracy and of the standards expected by Cast.
  • Display awareness and application of Cast culture and values
  • Champion the use of technology to advance our cost management service

  • Strong time management skills with understand of how to prioritise
  • Ability to work well with others.
