Job Overview


Job Title: Senior Buyer

Department: Purchasing

Starting date: ASAP

Reports to: Global Procurement and Supply Chain Director

Working Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm

Total hours p/w: 40 hours

Incumbent: Yes

Supervisory responsibility for: Purchasing

Lunch break: 30 minutes

Annual holiday entitlement: 20 Days + Bank Holidays and Birthday off



Position Summary


As Senior Buyer you will be responsible for spearheading the purchasing process from selecting suppliers negotiating to receive the best price, buying, ensuring stock optimization, as well as provide guidance on sourcing and procurement processes.

Responsibilities


• Negotiate with key suppliers to develop improved terms regarding pricing, stock holding, etc.

• Working to KPIs to ensure maximum return from warehousing space and ensuring the top A category items are maintained in stock 100% of the time.

• Identifying, managing, and mitigating risks in the supply chain

• Locating and working with opportunities within the supply chain.

• Coordinate necessary product spec. revisions and deviations as needed with suppliers.

• Maintain system accuracy, including lead-time, pricing, current supplier information, current purchase order data, etc.

• Assist in the search of new suppliers of goods and services, assess and risk as necessary.

• Manage item change process to include deletions, sub-rules, and unit of measure changes.

• Collaborate with senior management on stock/non-stock items.

• Assists other departments with problem resolution involving discrepancies between purchase order, delivered quantity, quality and/or price.

• Review and modify demand forecasts for inventory items, purchasing systems, and reporting tools.

• Identify cost savings opportunities and assist in achieving yearly cost reduction targets set by Finance Director.

• Work closely with Marketing to forecast the upcoming levels of demand.

• Working with the team and managing the team with a positive the approach and attitude through effective one-to-one meetings with individuals as well as maintaining excellent standards of performance.

• Fully endorsing company values and practicing amongst team.

• Represent the company professionally and always seek to build the reputation of the products.

• Work in accordance with company policies and procedures and any other relevant legislation.

• Be flexible in approach, prioritize workload and respond to crisis to ensure the necessary provisions are maintained.

• Maintain existing Smartsheet’s and other system tools in this area of the business.

• Continuously monitor and review stock levels.


Requirements


• Able to work cross-culturally with suppliers throughout the world.

• Supply chain certification (CSCP, CPIM, CFPIM)

• Strong sense of matrix environment with ability to effectively work within a team environment across countries and different time zones.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and project a professional image.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with good relationship building skills.

• Experience in buying catering equipment is a plus

• Ability to lead projects and negotiate with cross functional teams and multitask.

• Excellent oral, written, public relations and communication skills.

• Strong administrative and data management skills

• Experience in delivering competitive advantage to the business through development and implementation of sourcing strategies for the spend category.

• Qualification of purchasing negotiation
