A central London law firm, who operates a hybrid working policy, is seeking a Compliance & Risk Manager to jon their team. It is a firm with a real niche and they are keen to appoint a strong communicator.
The appointee will be responsible for ensuring firm-wide compliance with SRA regulations and the SRA Handbook, as well as identifying and reporting material breaches to the SRA. You will develop, implement, and maintain AML policies and procedures, and serve as the liaison with the SRA and other regulatory bodies as required. Conducting customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence checks will also be a key part of your duties. Additionally, you will be tasked with implementing and monitoring compliance policies and procedures, and developing and executing risk management and compliance strategies.
You will conduct risk assessments and internal audits as needed and manage the firm’s complaints process. Monitoring adherence to AML, legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements will be essential, as will creating and maintaining compliance documentation and reports.
Applicants must have extensive experience in compliance and AML, from within the legal sector. You should possess in-depth knowledge of SRA regulations and legal compliance, as well as a strong understanding of money laundering risks in the legal industry. Excellent leadership and communication skills are required, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in MS Office and practice management systems is also essential. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success and integrity of a well-established firm, ensuring it meets the highest standards of compliance and risk management.
