We have an exciting opportunity for two Patient Safety Partners to join our team here at The London Clinic. This is a 24 month fixed term opportunity; working flexibly, hybrid and part time We require a commitment of 30 hours each per month. We are offering a salary of £7500 per annum for 30 hours/ month This is a flexible role, allowing us to accommodate the hours that suit you. However, it does require some on-site visits and a commitment to attending committees at specified times and days.

What is a Patient Safety Partner?

The patient safety partner (PSP) role is a new and innovative role within healthcare to enable the hospital to value, listen and provide meaningful involvement and opportunities for patients, their carers and families in the ongoing patient safety work of the organisation.

Job Profile

As a Patient Safety Partner (PSP), you will work alongside the hospital’s clinical and non-clinical staff, to help inform and influence decisions on services. You will become a member of committees, work with project teams, consult on policy and support learning to contribute a different and independent perspective, enriching and ensuring the best patient experience is achieved. The role will champion a patient-centred culture and support the quality assessments of wards and departments across the hospital.

Your responsibilities will also include;

• Attendance and contribution at the London Clinic’s Quality and Performance Committee, Patient Experience Committee, Patients with Additional Support Needs and Quality Improvement Oversight Committee.

• Supporting 15-Step service assessments ensuring the patient’s voice is taken into account fairly.

• Acting as an adviser/critical friend to the hospital in the development & delivery of the patient safety and patient experience policies and strategies.

• Bringing the voice and needs of patients, families, carers into committees in a way that provides check and challenge to support the board to clarify changes to the organisation going forward

• Interact and network with other PSPs across the private and public sector.

Skills & Experience

• Ability to provide a patient, carer, or lay perspective and to invite, canvas and put forward views on behalf of the wider community/groups of patients (not own opinion only).

• Experience of championing health improvements; able to be a critical friend.

• Interaction with multiple stakeholders including hospital staff, Patient Forum Group, patients and PSPs from other healthcare providers.

• Analytical thinking: The ability to apply critical thinking and analytical skills to learn from reports, policies, and guidelines, enabling evidence-based decision-making.

• Personal integrity and commitment to openness, inclusiveness and high standards.

• A passion for patient safety and a strong commitment to patient safety and a genuine passion for actively participating in initiatives to improve the quality of patient care
