UK, UK, United Kingdom ACS International Schools Full time

ACS International Schools are recruiting a Spanish Teacher to join our Hillingdon campus.

The Spanish teacher will be required to teach across a mixture of grades within Upper School, inclusive of IB Diploma level.

At ACS International School Hillingdon, our mission is to make our students ready for anything, meaning we are an active learning partner rather than a passive education provider.

The broad and flexible curriculum at ACS International School Hillingdon is designed to help students excel, ensuring they’re ready for the next stage of their academic career. Underpinned by the International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement courses, AP Capstone Diploma and the US High School Diploma, our curriculum emphasises life skills as much as academic excellence, with a focus on experiential learning and leadership that ensures we nurture confident, caring, well-rounded individuals who are ready for the future.

ACS Hillingdon’s 11-acre campus is less than 14 miles from central London, enabling students to benefit from opportunities in both the city and countryside. Our magnificent Greater London campus has outstanding facilities, and a wealth of history, art and culture right on its doorstep.

Knowledge, skills, and experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree/Bachelor of Education
  • A teaching qualification (PGCE/QTS/Teaching licence/certification or equivalent)
  • 2 or more years of post-qualifying teaching experience to relevant age groups
  • Strong IT skills, preferably with Apple products
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written.
  • Significant experience and willingness to integrate technology to improve teaching and learning.
  • Experience of teaching in an international school is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience with the IB would be an advantage but is not essential, however experience in teaching A-level or equivalent would also be of interest.
  • The ability to teach a second language would be advantageous but is not essential.

Benefits of Teaching at ACS:

  • Recognising that time is needed to plan, collaborate and provide meaningful feedback to students, teachers at ACS teach a maximum 21 hours per week.
  • Our maximum class size is a manageable maximum of 22 with most classes being smaller than that. We are a well-resourced school, enabling us to provide our students and teachers with the resources they need to learn and achieve.
  • We take the professional development of our staff seriously and provide ample opportunities and resourcing to support this.

Start date: August 2024

Duration: This will be a one year fixed term contract with the potential for extension.

Safeguarding

ACS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and as an employee of ACS you are expected to share this commitment. The protection of our students’ welfare is the responsibility of all staff within ACS International Schools and individuals are expected to conduct themselves in a way that reflects the principles of our organisation.
