Overview

We are recruiting a highly motivated and skilled Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects in the water and wastewater sector. This role emphasizes a strong technical understanding of Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering and a commitment to safety, quality, and cost-efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety, and Compliance:

  • Maintain and enforce a safe workplace environment, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety policies and regulations.
  • Uphold the highest safety standards across operations, including adherence to SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) and CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations.

Project Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of project delivery, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the agreed-upon quality standards.
  • Develop and monitor detailed project plans, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Lead and motivate project teams and subcontractors to achieve project goals efficiently and collaboratively.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, professional growth, and high morale within the team.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Establish and maintain effective communication with internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Chair key meetings and provide timely project updates to stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and third-party stakeholders to ensure smooth project integration and delivery.

Problem-Solving and Reporting:

  • Address and resolve complex project issues swiftly to minimize disruptions.
  • Provide accurate and transparent reporting to stakeholders and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Strategic Contributions:

  • Work with leadership to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate adaptability in taking on additional responsibilities to meet organizational priorities.

Requirements

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing water and wastewater projects through the full lifecycle (preferred).
  • Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., HNC, Degree, NVQ Level 4 in Site Supervision, ONC).
  • Valid certifications, including CSCS/ECS/SKILLcard, SMSTS, and First Aid at Work (mandatory).

Technical Knowledge:

  • Expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, water/wastewater operations, and commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with SHEQ and CDM compliance processes.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively.
