Head of Compliance


This role is office based (min 4 days) in Gravesend in Kent


As Head of Compliance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that we adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. You’ll be responsible for monitoring, assessing, and reporting on compliance activities across various departments. Your attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to communicate effectively will be essential in maintaining a strong compliance framework.


You’ll be responsible for:


  • All matters of compliance across the business, ensuring we maintain the highest possible compliance standards, policies, monitoring, and controls
  • Managing the Compliance team
  • Ensuring the highest levels of support for the business, the board of directors and all other departments
  • Ensuring you provide a low risk, compliant environment for the business to operate within
  • Managing compliance manuals, policies, and procedures, working with the operations lead on the deployment of these into the business
  • Ensuring we have a robust checking and monitoring process
  • Assisting the VP of Analytics with CMAR reports
  • Keeping fully briefed and educated on all current and future compliance announcements within the industry
  • Ensuring our compliance strategy is executed in line with the board’s plans
  • Ensuring our GABRIEL, FCA and other portals are up to date and maintained
  • Working with the Senior Leadership Team to understand the needs and priorities of the business and the wider market to ensure that the compliance plan is effective
  • Liaising with other industry compliance professionals and pick up and implement best practice hints and tips
  • Representing the company in audits where required.
  • Working with the FCA where required ensuring we are meeting all required standards
  • Developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders as required to fulfil your role e.g. internal (senior managers, the board, Finance, Admin) and external (suppliers, partners)


Skills and Experience:


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Senior compliance, risk management, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of FCA regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to analyse complex information.
