Our client is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Engineering Apprentice to join their Engineering team in Northampton. The successful candidate will be given an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop technical skills in the corrugated fibreboard industry. You will work closely with their experienced Engineers and learn to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimise their manufacturing processes and equipment.

Key responsibilities

Assist in Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Support the Engineering team in maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance.

Process Optimisation:

  • Assist in identifying and implementing improvements to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing waste and improving workflow.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support to production teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems under the guidance of Senior Engineers.

Training and Development:

  • Attend training sessions and workshops to develop technical skills and knowledge, including day release to college.
  • Complete all required coursework and assessments as part of the apprenticeship program.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
  • Assist in creating and updating technical documentation and standard operating procedures.

Health, Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe and compliant manner.

  • £19,000.00pa for year one, rising to £23,000.00 (also subject to NLW) for year two of employment
