One of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors is seeking a Mechanical or Electrical biased Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Warrington with site visits on an ad-hoc basis. They supports clients in the Water, Power & Energy, Nuclear, Pharmaceutical, and Food & Beverage industries.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a specialist section of our business, ensuring the commercial control of multiple projects. It’s a permanent staff role, working hybrid 3 days office and 2 from home.


Key Responsibilities: Quantity Surveyor

  1. Assist in the commercial control of multiple projects to ensure contract margin delivery.
  2. Prepare interim valuations, variations, final accounts, and weekly progress reports.
  3. Ensure strict adherence to all contractual notices.
  4. Perform take-offs to identify changes in drawings from tender to AFC and construction issues.
  5. Monitor subcontract costs against allowances and manage labour allocation.
  6. Update internal project databases to track costs.
  7. Implement effective risk management techniques.
  8. Manage subcontract orders, project tenders, and pre-contract information.
  9. Ensure materials are purchased within tender allowances.
  10. Deliver projects commercially in line with contract margins.
  11. Inform senior management of cost overruns or risks to project delivery.
  12. Perform other duties necessary for the role of Quantity Surveyor.


Key Requirements: Quantity Surveyor

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience and/or relevant professional qualifications.
  2. Experience with multi-discipline contracting organisations is essential.
  3. Knowledge of NEC contracts and framework contracts is desirable.
  4. Familiarity with contract administration tools like CEMAR is a plus.
  5. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  6. Full driving license.
  7. Effective communication and negotiation skills at senior levels.
