Responsibilities

  • Provide safe isolation and conduct tool box talks for other disciplines
  • Carry out planned maintenance tasks on site electrical equipment such as motors, transformers, UPS systems, HV & LV distributions systems, lighting and electrical actuators.
  • Carry out hazardous area inspections on all site electrical equipment.
  • Respond to and diagnose faults and trips on site electrical equipment.
  • Carry out repair works to faulty electrical equipment.
  • Report daily on the site MMS and raise fault work orders for any repairs required.
  • Assist with the creation of permits, risk assessments and isolations.
  • Review procedures and drawings and ensure any corrections marked up and reported correctly.
  • Participate in site behavioural engagement and hazard observation scheme.


Qualifications

  • Technical qualification with applicable electrical background - City and Guilds / BTec/NC/ NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation / SJIB (Scotland) / JIB (England)
  • IET Wiring Regulations 18th edition
  • Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
  • Emergency First Aid
  • COMPEX EX01-EX04
  • Electrical Safety & Situational Awareness (preferred)
  • HV / LV Switching (preferred)
  • Relay Protection (preferred)


Rotation

6 week rota: Annual total hours – 1803

1st week: Monday – Friday – 5 x 8hour shifts, Saturday and Sunday off

2nd week – Monday – Sunday – 7 x 12 hour shifts, comprising of 4 day shifts and 3 night shifts. 3 days off

3rd week – Monday – Sunday – 7 x 12 hour shifts – 3 day shifts, 4 night shifts. Then 18 days off.
