Senior Media Manager

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Media Manager for a 6 month contract on a rate of £238/day (Inside IR35). Hybrid working with regular travel to Edinburgh and throughout Scotland 2 days or more per week.

Responsibilities:


- Media management – working with Ministers and policy teams to inform the public of organisations policies by working with journalists, other key influencers and stakeholders, drafting media materials, setting up and running visits, or responding to media enquiries.

- News management – the ability to identify opportunities or problems and react quickly.

- Content creation – work with our digital communications team to develop, share and evaluate dynamic content.

- Representing communications at ministerial and other senior level meetings, providing first class communications advice.

- Line managing and supporting media managers, or other staff, as appropriate.

- Participating in a weekly out-of-hours duty rota system.


Essential Skills:


- Strong experience of building relationships with a wide range of people, including senior leaders, journalists and other key influencers.

- A sound understanding of the constantly changing way in which news content is created and consumed – and the ability to create dynamic content for a variety of channels.

- The ability to work at pace when opportunities or problems arise, reacting quickly and giving timely and professional advice.

- A track record of contributing effectively as part of a team, supporting staff, implementing ideas and maintaining personal and team resilience through periods of pressure.
