Oracle PL/SQL Developer & DBA
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer & Database Administrator (DBA) to join a growing Team in Sheffield. This role is integral in managing database performance, optimizing SQL and PL/SQL queries, and supporting application integration with Oracle databases. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in database development and administration, coupled with a collaborative approach to working with development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and debug Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code to support business applications.
- Perform database administration tasks, including performance tuning, backups, and routine maintenance.
- Collaborate with .NET development teams to ensure seamless integration of Oracle databases with .NET-based applications.
- Ensure data models align with business requirements and system architecture.
Core Competencies
- Strong expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, with proven experience in:
- Query optimization.
- Debugging and troubleshooting.
- Data modelling and schema design.
- Hands-on experience with database administration (DBA), including:
- Performance tuning.
- Managing backups and recovery processes.
- General database health and maintenance.
- Experience in integrating Oracle databases with .NET-based applications.
Additional Skills (Desirable)
- Familiarity with SAP database interactions or exposure to HANA.
- Basic understanding of .NET to facilitate effective collaboration with development teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- years of professional experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer and/or DBA.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
