Organisational Relationship Reporting into Credit Risk Director

Location: London and remote working

General Summary Working closely with the Credit Risk Director, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented candidate looking to extend their career in Financial Crime and Fraud investigations. The purpose of the role will be:

  • To support the Credit Risk Director in the development and delivery of an appropriate fraud and financial crime monitoring which identifies, measures and mitigates the risks faced by the firm.
  • Investigate alerts generated by the transaction monitoring tool which may be indicative of fraud or financial crime.
  • Utilise fraud software to establish queries to identify patterns and trends within MI.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risks to our customers by analysing data, awareness of sector issues and a comprehensive understanding of the internal systems and controls.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the transaction monitoring tool day to day ensuring alerts are worked in line with policy.
  • Documenting investigations and fraud patterns for escalation to the Credit Risk Director where necessary.
  • Producing management information which will be presented to Senior Management including the annual MLRO Report.
  • Assisting in the development and operation of the company’s Enhanced Due diligence processes, PEP and sanctions screening processes as well as third-party financial crime audit programmes.
  • Supporting the broader Compliance Team as required and in particular transaction monitoring.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to design processes and capabilities that conform to UK consumer financial law and guidance.
  • Leverage technology to facilitate monitoring and reporting of fraud, financial crime and compliance risk.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree or industry-relevant equivalent.
  • Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail when analysing large amounts of data.
  • Commercial experience in Fraud or Financial Crime setting.
  • The ability to work independently when researching or producing written reports.
  • A willingness to embrace a varied workload, befitting of a small team.
  • A strong ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and use own initiative.
  • An ability to meet deadlines, logically tackle problems and set priorities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and comprehensive IT skills and desirable to have worked with decision engines previously.
  • Knowledge and experience using i2 Products.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
