Belfast Northern Ireland, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom HAYS Full time
** Hybrid Architectural Technologist / Document Control position - Major NI Practice - £Negotiable / D.o.E **

Your new company
Hays have been retained by one of Belfast’s most established, multi award-winning architectural practices in their search for an experienced Architect. They specialise in delivering large scale projects across the UK within the commercial, leisure and residential sectors. The reason for the creation of this position is simply influx of workload and organic growth, and it comes at an interesting part of their development as, due to continued success and expansion, they are running out of seats in their studio - so there is real emphasis on this appointment to ensure the right fit, with some compelling projects for the right person to become involved in.
Your new role
As a job running Architect, you'll typically be engaged on major building projects based in mainland UK. You'll work with a range of stake-holders (both internal and exterior to the business), and manage the associated project team. This studio have built an enviable reputation for themselves as being delivery specialists, which in itself offers exciting opportunities to travel occasionally abroad if required. With this specialism in taking projects through the latter RIBA stages, there wouldn't be a lot of conceptual design work - suiting those with strengths in technical coordination, site-facing elements & troubleshooting on live works. This being said, the practice is well-structured and has a steering committee of Associates, who are continually pushing the partners to 'think outside the box' and operate in new sectors and on new types of work. Therefore, whilst technical delivery underpins the business, there are certainly opportunities for creative / conceptual flair, and would suit a versatile Architect open to new challenges. Due to the complexity and type of work they do, this is a progressive Revit / BIM practice with a continual focus on the development and upskilling of their staff in this regard.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified Architect with 3+ years experience working across all project work stages, in a relevant sector. You'll have a good understanding of UK building control & planning protocols, and a depth of knowledge across construction methodologies. You should be a competent designer, with a wealth of technical knowledge, and solid proficiency across Revit / AutoCAD / MS Office etc. You will have confidence in your written and verbal communication skills, with great organisational abilities and an ability to prioritise / manage multiple work streams simultaneously, as well as coordinating / mentoring junior staff.
What you'll get in return
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Northern Ireland’s most established practices. Their offices are based in an attractive and vibrant part of Belfast city centre. Their ethos has always been to teach and develop their staff, so you’ll receive ongoing training alongside the opportunity for career progression. You’ll experience a fantastic culture within the practice and be offered flexible working hours alongside a competitive salary.
