Data & Process Analyst

They are data-driven insurance company adopting a culture of small highly skilled teams building the core intellectual property while all operational needs are met with Software as a Service (SaaS) or outsourced providers. The Data Engagement team is the entry point to support the company in adding data to the Data Universe and making it available through data contracts. We are looking for a talented Data & Process Analyst who can act as a bridge between the Data function and the rest of the business while ensuring that we maximise the value of the capabilities that the Data function has developed for our stakeholders. Engaging in constant dialogue with all stakeholders to ensure we deliver value from data; is our primary responsibility This role will suit someone who has experience working with small and large-scale data transformation projects in the Insurance sector.

You will be responsible for:

• Being an involved and senior member of our team, with specific focus on:

  • Managing between 4-6 non-permanent team members;
  • Identifying improvements to our ways of working and processes, and pursue the required changes;
  • Promoting the values within the Data Engagement team;
  • Developing open and transparent relationships across data teams and with all engaged parties;
  • Providing support and development to junior members of the Data Engagement team where appropriate;
  • Onboarding new team members.
  • Ensuring we deliver value from data to our stakeholders.
  • Working with stakeholders to define, document, prioritise business requirements.
  • Sharing the capabilities and tools of the Data team with stakeholders to help them improve processes and make better decisions.
  • Documenting requirements, business outcomes, data flows and data using identified tools and techniques.
  • Ensuring business value of the requirements are understood by the squad.
  • Communicating with stakeholders on timelines, expected outcomes and providing transparency.
  • Embedding Service Excellence principles in data contracts that are built.
  • Ensuring we are communicating our outcomes and success with the wider team.
  • Being aware of technology stack, data architecture and data culture principles to ensure you represent the data team with stakeholders and enable the team to deliver expected outcomes.
  • Becoming the expert for specific datasets within our domain and having the ability to interrogate this data and specify views to support reporting requirements.
  • Ensuring that the various functions in the Data team are engaged as necessary to deliver required business outcomes and strategic goals.


Your key skills and abilities:

  • Have a passion for using data and technology to drive decision-making.
  • Tenacious, numerate and details focussed.
  • Experience working in the Insurance sector, preferably London Market.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate and work with stakeholders from across functions, understand business requirements and help them make use of existing data tools and capabilities.
  • Evidence problem solving and root cause identification skills.
  • Must be able to communicate with stakeholders effectively and keep them updated on scope, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Can balance multiple requirements from different teams and prioritise based on the value delivered.
  • Must have experience in capturing/defining/specifying data mapping and transformation rules.
  • Thrives in a scaled agile environment involving cross functional execution teams.
  • Ability to coordinate requirements and outcomes across multiple functions within the Data team (especially Data Architecture and Data Engineering) and with Data Culture.
  • Good knowledge of SQL is required, and knowledge of data modelling concepts and data management techniques are advantageous.
  • Skills in implementing reports / analytics will be desirable.
  • Knowledge of AWS and Snowflake desirable.
