Working with the UK&I team:

We’re looking for Account Executives who can apply themselves across multiple sectors, working across a range of clients but ideally with experience and interest in financial services and energy. The day to day comprises a focus on policy-related issues as well as media, digital/social media insights and evaluation, as well as broader aspects of corporate comms.


Duties/responsibilities

  • Undertakes research and analysis on a wide range of policy issues and news events that impact our clients.
  • Helps develop strategies and tactics to allow clients to clearly and successfully articulate their voice.
  • Drafting materials such as policy statements, issue briefings, and consultation responses in a succinct but compelling way
  • Drafting releases, statements and articles for the media on client priorities and initiatives.
  • Develops news angles/ideas/research questions on straightforward subjects to a satisfactory standard, given a clear brief (e.g. ideas for a news releases aimed at a particular audience).
  • Develops good relationships with core target journalists, makes proactive efforts to do so and can evidence opportunities/outcomes for clients as a result.
  • Drafts content for social media channels with guidance and briefs.
  • Supports and contributes to the non-specialist elements of a digital audit or research project, with guidance and briefs.
  • Contributes positively to client meetings and has developed good client relationships in day to day contact and liaison, demonstrating ability to gain client confidence and trust.
  • Contributes to new business proposals and pitch presentations by providing support to colleagues, including media and client sector research. Is part of a sector hub new business team.
  • Timely completion of timesheets


Skills & Experience

  • Able to manage own time efficiently, including maintaining an accurate to-do list, clarifying briefs when they are given.
  • Planning and executing tasks to agreed deadlines, and communicating progress with account leads and capacity level with line manager.
  • Good oral and writing skills.
  • Confidently participates in presentations following clear briefing.
  • Has a basic understanding of financial controls and budgeting procedures on own accounts (e.g. target hours per month per client).
  • Ability to work successfully with senior colleagues, including ‘managing up’, taking decisions, flagging issues and making recommendations where appropriate.
  • Understands how content can be utilised across a range of channels and has experience of implementing multi-channel programmes.
  • Demonstrates proactivity on accounts including taking responsibility for delivery of status reports, coverage results and other reporting to clients accurately, on time and with appropriate messaging.

Location and hours

  • Our London office is based in the heart of the City of London on Gresham Street and travel to meetings and events around the UK when needed.
  • Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week between 09:00 and 17:30
  • Irregular hours and overtime work is a characteristic of our industry and the nature of our client projects and will be expected to meet client requirements and project deadlines
