Fixed Income Primary Markets is responsible the London Stock Exchange's markets for 1,100 global borrowers in over 60 countries that raise $500-600 billion annually. The division's International Securities Market and Sustainable Bond Market have been key engines of growth.

The team's activities include business development with a pipeline of global borrowers, building managing sales and after-sales processes, relationship management, working closely with colleagues in product, marketing, regulations, government relations, compliance and operations to create effective and efficient markets. Thematic areas that the team covers include sustainable finance (including the Sustainable Bond Market), Islamic finance, local currency finance, project and infrastructure bonds, structured finance, emerging tech in capital markets and development finance.

Serving issuers of Structured Products and Structured Finance has been identified as a key area of growth for the Exchange. The fixed income origination manager is responsible for the global business development of the listing of structured products for the exchange. The candidate is expected to identify and develop key relationships with structured finance issuers, bankers and dealers, law firms and advisors involved in the issuance of structured product transactions, attend industry events and conferences with a focus on structured finance in order to grow LSE's structured finance business. The manager is also expected to collaborate with the broader capital markets team including market research and intelligence, assist with internal reporting for LSEG management and work with colleagues in structured finance in LSEG FX and the Data & Analytics division.

An ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of primary debt capital markets with a focus on structured finance achieved through a practitioner role in debt and derivatives structured products and/or leveraged finance, or high yield issuance. Experience in DCM origination, structuring, syndications, transaction management, credit analysis or treasury is helpful, and the candidate must be used to supporting customers in a fast paced and highly regulated environment. Previous experience at an investment bank or a law firm and having an existing network is desirable.

The role will be based in London and will report to the Head of Fixed Income Origination, Capital Markets based in NYC.

Main responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing relationships with corporate treasurers, heads of funding, structured finance desks, origination and syndication professionals, capital markets lawyers and investors to drive the admissions of structured products to the London Stock Exchange's debt markets and building broader relationships with structured finance issuers
  • Responsible for building strategies to penetrate the structured finance market globally and generate revenue growth for the LSE's debt markets
  • Execute market research and intelligence, competitive analysis for the structured finance field and assist with internal reporting for LSEG management and ad-hoc reporting that includes structured finance
  • Proactively promoting client engagement and collaborating with other LSEG teams including Issuer Services, FTSE Russell, Regulation, RNS, LSEG FX and Data & Analytics, Technical support and Operations teams to find appropriate solutions to customer queries
  • Liaise and work closely with marketing to drive initiatives such as social media campaign, external reports to clients to raise visibility of LSE as a listing venue for structured products
  • Represent London Stock Exchange Group at global industry events and position London Stock Exchange Group as the premiere Fixed Income listing destination and a thought leader in Debt Capital Market and structured finance
Required Skills, Behaviours and Experience
  • Previous experience working within Debt Capital Markets with a focus on structured finance achieved through a practitioner role in debt and derivatives structured products and/or leveraged finance, or high yield issuance
  • And/or experience in DCM origination, syndications, transaction management, credit analysis or treasury
  • Good knowledge of fixed income markets with the ability to develop understanding of capital market issuance process
  • Excellent presentation skills, confident and with the ability to interact with clients and market participants
  • Strong verbal communicator, both in person and over the telephone. Team player with the ability to collaborate with key internal stakeholders
  • Proactive and attention to detail
  • Able to develop solutions that demonstrate an understanding of the external environment e.g. legal / regulatory framework, competitor offerings etc.
  • Written communications are well structured, persuasive, concise and based on fact
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure in a constructive and professional manner
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of Office and Salesforce
