Job Description

We’re recruiting for a Clinical Team Manager to join our Group Protection Clinical team. With a competetive salary of up to £55,000 depending on expereince.

You will guide and manage a team of Vocational Clinical Specialists providing support to the pro-active claims management service for our Group and Individual Protection customers by establishing and having oversight of the delivery of early intervention, treatment/therapy, rehabilitation and return to work plans.

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensure the teams objectives and efforts are aligned to overall departmental goals, service level agreements and targets, pro-actively using relevant management information to monitor and respond to changes in performance levels
  • Deliver a comprehensive clinical service to the claims team to assist with the assessment and management of Income Protection, Critical Illness and Ill-Health Liability Insurance claims ensuring that our rehabilitation philosophy is adhered to
  • Be responsible for the recruitment of staff within the Clinical Team, ensuring that they have the appropriate qualifications and that the correct level of resource and competency of staff is maintained
  • Manage, motivate and develop employees at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the Company’s policies and procedures including Partnership Agreement, to maximise the performance of the area
  • Develop and build effective relationships with IFA’s and Policyholders (employers), both pre and post - sale, in order to promote the understanding of our claims management philosophy and operating procedures
  • Develop and build effective relationships with members by holding discussions and conducting assessments through telephone or face to face contact, establishing their clinical capability, developing and monitoring rehabilitation plans

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • The jobholder must be either an Occupational therapist or Registered General Nurse with either an Occupational Health qualification or vocational rehabilitation experience and must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) or the appropriate governing body
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Communication, both verbal and written skills, logical and risk management skills
